Software-Defined Mobile Edge (SD-ME)

Edge Developers Conference

A Software-Defined Mobile Edge (SD-ME) platform produces a shift in the developer community where cloud applications shift to edge applications, network engineers shift to network programmers, and open APIs at the convergence of networking and computing can be exposed. An SD-ME platform that’s neutral to the access network, cloud environment and the application host backend enables developers to easily create low-latency, high throughput apps that keep mobility in mind.

Ganesh Sundaram will discuss how APIs are used by developers, how to implement CUPS at every layer, and how an open programmable architecture can be overlaid onto any network to:

  • Enable developers to take advantage of SD-ME APIs and how they can build and monetize their applications
  • Enable Enterprises to overlay SD-ME on their network for benefits today and applications of tomorrow
  • Give new monetization tools to limited networks and latency deprived regions, such as rural America
