Many devices at the extreme edge have many form factors to support the appropriate user experiences in a specific environment while addressing time and safety-critical applications. They usually leverage embedded software and were initially connected via IOT type applications. Examples range from sensors, actuators, Programmable-Logic Controllers (PLC), Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), and Engine Control Units (ECUs). This session addresses how Edge Computing will make the most of the scarcity of resources at the extreme Edge and how the Embedded community needs to adjust to make the most out of Edge Computing.
