Shaping the Future of the Edge: Our Edge Woman of the Year Judging Panel

With Entries now Open for the Edge Woman of the Year Award, we wanted to take a moment to thank our amazing Judging Panel! At Edge Computing World 2020, State of the Edge and Edge Computing World will Present the Second Annual Edge Woman of the Year Award. This Award represents the edge computing industry coming together to celebrate the women shaping the future of edge, but it also recognizes the depth and breadth of talent available to the edge computing sector to help the market reach its full potential. Our Judging Panel exemplifies this experience, talent and diversity. Over the next few weeks, we will be highlighting their achievements, and trust that they will inspire other females in the sector to enter and be recognized.

Each week, we’ll be highlighting a few of the 2020 judges:

Janet George, GVP Autonomous Enterprise, Oracle Cloud

Janet is currently serves Oracle as Group Vice President of Autonomous Enterprise transformation, solving for business outcomes with Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence. Including deep neural networks and Cognitive Automation for key customers. Janet joined Oracle from Chief Data/AI officer & “Fellow” role at Western Digital responsible for Big Data/Artificial Intelligence & Cognitive Sciences transformational journey for the past 5 years. Prior Janet has enjoyed a distinguished career track record serving Accenture Technology Labs, as Managing Partner, as Head of Yahoo Research Engineering and Cloud anet is currently serves Oracle as Group Vice President of Autonomous Enterprise transformation, solving for business outcomes with Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence. She holds an Advanced Master’s Degree with Distinction in Computer Science, Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence with thesis focus on Deep Learning and Generative Adversarial Neural networks. Janet is a California native & grew up in the Silicon Valley Bay Area, and is passionate about environment, nature, climate change, sea level rise,biodiversity, plant ecosystem, natural health and well- being.

 

Maemalynn Meanor, Senior PR, Marketing and Social Media Strategist, The Linux Foundation

Maemalynn Meanor is a Senior Public Relations and Marketing Manager for The Linux Foundation. She specializes in technology communications for open source projects such as those focused on IoT, operating systems, edge, data, and mainframes. She develops grassroots outreach that engages with developers, engineers and students and strategic communication campaigns that highlight members and activities for LF Edge, Open Mainframe Project and the Zephyr Project.

With a career that spans nearly two decades, Maemalynn brings a wealth of expertise in all facets of integrated marketing and public relations programs – from strategic planning and writing to media relations and social promotions, event management and community partnerships to stakeholder communications and more. Prior to joining the Linux Foundation, Maemalynn was a Senior Public Relations Supervisor at Golin, where she was responsible for driving multi-faceted public relations programs that included media relations, creating collateral, promotions and more for Texas Instruments. She was also an Account Supervisor at Cramer-Krasselt (CKPR) for several years and managed communications for clients such as University of Phoenix, M&I Bank and Universal Technical Institute.

In her free time, Maemalynn is a soccer mom and taekwondo enthusiast for her two children. When she’s not driving them to their activities, she enjoys screaming loudly for the Pittsburgh Steelers with her husband and cooking Thai food.

 

Maribel Lopez, Founder and Principal Analyst,Lopez Research 

Maribel is the founder of Lopez Research, a market research and strategy consulting firm. She’s also the co-founder of the Emerging Technology Research Council, a community of business and technical leaders in Fortune 1000 companies focused on driving innovation and business value by leveraging emerging technologies.

Maribel is the author of the John Wiley and Sons book “Right-time Experiences” and a contributor to Forbes.

Prior to founding Lopez Research, Maribel gained her expertise by working at Motorola, International Data Corp., Shiva Corporation and Forrester Research.
