Tell us a bit about yourself – what led you to get involved in the edge computing market?

Germán León Tech Entrepreneur and interaction designer with experience in leadership and growth. My process consists of delivering insight-driven innovations using “agile techniques.” My job is to ensure that Gestoos “vision” is executed and delivered. Gestoos mission is to put the “brains” (software) behind all those “eyes” (cameras) that surround us. And doing so while respecting people’s privacy and intimacy.
I have focused my career on the mobility space; I have worked with multiple OEMs and Tier 1’s worldwide. At Gestoos, the company Marcel Alcoverro (our CTO) and I founded, we realized that it was imperative to run the AI on Edge for real-time Artificial Intelligence applications. Our challenge is to teach vehicles and objects to think, monitor, and help people, which can only be done if the computation device can make decisions on the Edge.

What is the company uniquely bringing to the edge market?

Gestoos brings a main breakthrough to the market: using a meager amount of data to deploy an application and run the detection engine. At the same time, gather live data on users’ behaviors. The models learn and update locally on the device through semi-supervised learning. Furthermore, these learnings can then, if desired, be combined and federated to all deployed instances.

Tell us more about the company?

Gestoos is a deep-tech company led by a strong professional track record and academic background. Gestoos technology is unique and operates globally.  Gestoos’ technology can be set up across all industries and used for multiple usages from digital spaces and automotive to home automation and VR/AR.

How do you see the edge market in Europe?

The edge market is growing very fast, and industries such as mobility will exponentially impact using it. Europe can deliver products and services using Edge and compete with leaders’ cloud infrastructures in other geographies.

How do you see the edge market developing over the next few years?

From our experience, the market will develop based on a cost-efficient infrastructure such as mobility and transportation. Such sectors require enormous data and connectivity, which sometimes can not be achieved. By using Edge, these sectors can develop innovative use-cases and bring those innovations to the market rapidly.

Thanks Germán – Looking forward to hearing more from Gestoos at the event !
